I am now in the midst of Evolve. The first 4 songs are likely the best 4 songs they’ve ever opened an album with. It’s at least really close to Billy Breathes in that regard. Fantastic so far.
Edit: 2/3 of the way through and still going great. In the realm of Phish studio albums this is already near the top.

I have just started listening to round room. I thinks it's their best work that I've heard.

Round Room is also very good. Pebbles and Marbles is one of my favorite Phish songs.
Finished the new one. The songs slow down at the end but they are still very good. It definitely would be in a theoretical top 5 of theirs for me if not on top. I frankly have heard all the albums but I never really have had them on repeat per se. A Picture of Nectar, Hoist, Billy Breathes, Farmhouse, Round Room, Big Boat, The Story of the Ghost, and now this one stick out as essentials with Sigma Oasis, Rift and Junta being the next level from the top. But that’s on pure memory. I think I did a studio album journey here a bit back. I’d have to review those notes. I am almost always still pleasantly shocked at how much I end up liking their studio work.

I've only listened to it 2 or 3 times but I think it's their best song.liebzz wrote:Round Room is also very good. Pebbles and Marbles is one of my favorite Phish songs.

Round Room is their best studio album. Mostly recorded live in a room over the course of a weekend.

I kept reading and this is obviously fake, but I did believe it for like 10 seconds, which says a lot.Simple Torture wrote:Hey! So this is insane.

i guess some people don't realize that things can go wrong / unepxected during chilbirth, that are fixable so long as a skilled doctor and certain medical equipment is nearby, and therefore it is beneficial to give birth in a hopsital if you can, so as to increase the odds of the child/wife not becoming impaired (or worse)

Phish Halloween 1994: Revisiting The 1st Musical Costume 30 Years Later
This is a fun read. Listening to the show again now and the vibe of the 80s/90s was just so different.

Revisiting Phish’s Transformative 1999, 25 Years Later
This was a really good read and has a bunch of links for the highlights called out. I still recall my neighbors getting home from Big Cypress and being thrilled I had it downloaded and could burn it to CD for them... a mere ten discs. Need to revisit some '99 and the dominoes beginning to tumble... after the New Year's run of course.Journalist Rob Mitchum is the author of Phish Essays, featuring essays about each show since 1993, posted in conjunction with the 25th anniversary. After reviewing Phish’s 1999 performances, Rob’s essay below looks back 25 years ago to assess the integral moments that occurred throughout one of most important years in the band’s career.

Re: sometimes it's nice to listen to phish
I’ve always been surprised that Big Cypress has never gotten an official release, and I’ve never taken the time to track down a bootleg. What’s the general consensus on that show? Worth a listen or overly bloated or something in between?
