that would be a good reason to listen to much REM beyond their slow songs.BurtReynolds wrote:this is the kind of jangly midtempo song that doesn't do anything for me. it's probably why I don't listen to much REM beyond their slow songs.

While definitely the best part of the song, I think it's far from best on the record.evenslow wrote:Coming out of the solo, 3:02 - 3:32.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:which part?evenslow wrote:Guys, I found the best 30 seconds on the whole record and it's in this song.

I've been overplaying this song and its not holding up well. Gotta turn my attention to others. Still optimistic that it will come back for me.

I hope this doesn't happen to me. I played it at the end of my run this morning and without fail it brings me down around a 7:00 minute mile. For context I'm usually around a 13:00 minute mileCoach wrote:I've been overplaying this song and its not holding up well. Gotta turn my attention to others. I've remembered what the "down down down" bit sounds like! It's "Recovering the Satellites" by Counting Crows.

So far I think this song is the unsung hero of LB. It's one you can forget about out, but you're going through the album it's such a nice surprise when it comes up. I love the lyrics on this one..."whispered songs....breathing in forgiveness". Not to mention one of the best bridges on the album.

Re: Swallowed Whole
I really enjoyed the SW outro music last night after Victorino's bases clearing triple
(P.S. - Congrats Red Sox fans. As a Phillies fan, it was hard for me to watch Victorino win a ring with a different team. But I was happy for him last night. He had a hell of a game.)

I'm still finding it difficult to enjoy this song because of that phantom drum track at the beginning that I'm sure is not meant to be there.

You can't tune it out? It's like 5 seconds and barely audible.harmless wrote:I'm still finding it difficult to enjoy this song because of that phantom drum track at the beginning that I'm sure is not meant to be there.
