Some guy in front of me at the store yesterday bought over $300 in liquor. "We're hosting a party tomorrow night."

That time of year where you happen to look at RM timestamps and something isn't adding up. Then you realize you need to uncheck DST in settings.

this doesn't seem remarkable to me? if I'm having more than like 20 people (a rare event) I would likely spend that muchPeeps wrote:did you say, oh hey doug rrMonkey_Driven wrote:Some guy in front of me at the store yesterday bought over $300 in liquor. "We're hosting a party tomorrow night."

as a guy who has had one beer in the last 8 years i have no idea how much stuff costs.
i was more alluding to the fact that doug would be the one RM'er i think of for hosting parties and buying alcohol

so my wife's aunt died in the old folks home in Portland a few months ago..she was 93
anyway, somehow our address was attached to a lot of the paperwork...I went downstairs today to pick up a package and was a bit surprised to see it was a box with human remain stickers on it...

Also the $300 on booze, I mean, yeah that is a lot of booze however you throw in a couple of nice bourbons and it’s actually not that much.
Whole lotta Miller Lite though.

Re: Talk about your day thread
I was at the movies today and during a very quiet, dramatic dialogue scene somehow my phone starts blasting audio from some video. I don't know how it happened, maybe my Instagram stories were "open" in the background? Even though my screen was locked? I don't even know what video it was, all I could hear was some guy going "OK, we're trying to make it through without getting obliterated" and then a bunch of pained screaming. I panicked as I tried desperately to shut the audio off but it kept going. I was freaking out, going "SORRY. I AM SORRY" as I tried everything I could think of to shut the audio off. On top of this, my girlfriend thought it was the funniest thing in the world so she started giggling uncontrollably. It was so disruptive. Must've lasted all of 10 seconds but it felt like forever. Finally I just ran out of the theater while trying to block the speaker with my hand and once outside I was finally able to close all apps. I am sure there was a quicker and easier way to deal with the situation but in my panic I couldn't think of it. I truly ruined that dramatic scene and when I returned to my seat my girlfriend was still giggling about it
