There are some real juicy tracks on the new Mount Eerie record and then some other stuff that I could easily delete forever.

Any Eerie fans here, gang?

Found the album a bit of a slog. Some nice moments but not enough to revisit.

I am enjoying the album War by Whores

Loud, angry, sludgy. Fun to blast loud

Neat. I didn't even know they had released one this year. 8 years after their debut is wild.

I remembered it basically because I had been keeping a list of albums I enjoyed from this year and thought I should give it another listen. Once again, I was quite impressed. This was The Vaccines’ Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations.
That was me

Have u checked Fontaines DC and Wunderhorse?
Fontaines DC was enjoyable. Probably preferred the Vaccines album but both were quite good. I feel like it’s been a while since I listened to albums that felt breezy and as natural as these. I will get to the Wunderhorse album soon is my guess.

Hmm, in theory this is right in my wheelhouse but I'm finding it a bit bland. It's like a tamer version of Kittens. I'd rather just listen to Kittens.

I'm still spinning Chelsea Wolfe - She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She a bunch. Definitely top 5, possibly top 3 of the year for me. She's ridiculously underrated.

Wunderhorse had a few moments that called back to almost Nirvana. It was a pretty cool album, and maybe a little less of an easy going listen than the other two, but still I enjoyed it quite a bit. All solid recommendations.

I was going to at least let it get to December. I do have a running list though that is 95% complete though so it’s not in substance that I wait, only procedure.

As I suspected, The Cure didn't alter my top 5 for 2024.
Kendrick Lamar on the other hand... Wowza.
