One of my closest friends, whom I served in the military with and whom I consider family, voted for Trump. happily, as did his older brother, who went to harvard, and has been doing cancer research for most of his career. They reasoned that things needed to be shaken up. They were disenfranchised with the Democratic party. I get that.

this morning i saw a retweet from the older brother. it was the announcement that trump had picked rfk jr to head HHS, and he'd quoted it with, "screwed." while the nomination still needs to be confirmed...it's extremely funny to me that people i hold in high regard, and believe to be intelligent...actually thought this dude would fill his cabinet with worthy people.

Yeah. I’m in an argument with someone right now who actually voted Kamala and is anti-Trump who said “well it looks like Trump now wants to be Putin.” I’m like just now?!?!? He’s only been telling us this for a decade. And this dude is like “show me where he said that!” I told him he’s much to intelligent to be so fucking stupid.

Do you prefer they storm Congress?
They'll just carry a "Free Palestine" flag and it'll be fine.
Is your joke that their anti-genocide message is too violent or too ineffective.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

You'll never know.

I have a student who has had a Palestine flag draped around his backpack this whole school year. In a recent plot twist, it turns out he's pretty excited about Trump winning. Go figure.

There is probably an argument to be made that a second Trump term may cause so much damage to the US that it will no longer be able to support Israel in the same manner as global projection of power collapses and domestic issues spiral out of control. I think that 1.) is mistakenly assuming the rest of the world can disconnect quickly enough, which there is little evidence of despite "BRICS" still being a thing for now and 2.) assumes that he can't find a way to kick the can into the next president's term just like he did in 2020.

But he WILL be the next president, so that will accomplish nothing.

Unless he dies. (fingers crossed)

Change in leadership (especially to one as mercurial and chaotic as Trump) is the only miniscule hope for those wanting the US to stop supporting Israel in everything it does. But let's face it, there is no scenario where the US government isn't the lapdog of Israel. Still, in such a desperate situation, voting to change administrations is the only decision they can make, hopeless as the situation may be.

As I just said: I seriously doubt it, just like I know it certainly won't happen under Democrats either.

With Dems losing support from the lefty Gaza crowd, they may have to give some ground to them to ever get them back, but I'm not counting on that either.

Think Trump will be a stronger supporter of Israel, than Biden was.

However good a writer he may be, it's unlikely he articulated criticisms of the Harris campaign's inability to address the public's perception of the results of the Biden administration's domestic policies in a book written in 2019. Possible, but unlikely. We are talking pre vs post COVID lockdowns, BLM riots, inflation, border security failures, etc. How many mottes you got back there?
I'm sure you're right. If that's the specific content you're looking for, I'll again direct you toward his podcast and the myriad articles he's written on the subject, where he's been literally doing exactly what you're looking for. But since you might struggle to find a Twitter account recapping those things for you, I imagine you're out of luck.
