Absolute fail attempt at a 10k run today. Not sure I have a half (marathon) in me.

The best runner of my group, despite making it to 12 miles in training, backed out due to a busy December and ongoing knee pain. I am okay with it.

11 miles @ 9:56 which is pretty impressive when you see that the first four miles where 10:17, 10:32, 10:17 & 10:49.

Really kicked it into gear in the second half.

Let's hear everybody's 2024 running recaps.

This has been my least eventful running year since the pandemic. Barely 300 miles, and the half marathon I finished in January was my worst time since I started running them annually.

Couple years ago all of this would have really bothered me, but I'm feeling pretty content these days knowing that I can still run whenever I want to.

All that said, I'm thinking of signing up for my first full marathon in 2025. No pressure but to finish. If I do one it will have to be somewhere in the North that doesn't get sweltering in April/May because that's about the amount of time I would need to train for it.

I will finish the year right around 300 miles. That’s down from 500+ last year.

In my defense: Shingles

And cervical radiculopathy.

Final race if the year this morning. The Frosty 5K in Prospect Park.

Fucking cold but felt good overall. Ended up finishing in 26:07 with an 8:25 pace. Not bad considering I started the race frozen.

Very nice

I've not ran at much at all since early November but, did 4 slowly today. I could have easily gone two more at that pace, but my stomach started to turn on me. I still had to walk almost a mile and half back home and as soon as I got inside straight to the toilet for instant 'rhea

Woof. That sucks. But I know the feeling. My stomach is always a little worse when I'm not running as regularly.
