Absolute fail attempt at a 10k run today. Not sure I have a half (marathon) in me.

Re: The Running Thread
The best runner of my group, despite making it to 12 miles in training, backed out due to a busy December and ongoing knee pain. I am okay with it.Dev wrote:I wish you would let me be your coach.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Get it.Dev wrote:10.5 kms today. Good time despite dropping temperatures.

Re: The Running Thread
11 miles @ 9:56 which is pretty impressive when you see that the first four miles where 10:17, 10:32, 10:17 & 10:49.
Really kicked it into gear in the second half.

Re: The Running Thread
Let's hear everybody's 2024 running recaps.
This has been my least eventful running year since the pandemic. Barely 300 miles, and the half marathon I finished in January was my worst time since I started running them annually.
Couple years ago all of this would have really bothered me, but I'm feeling pretty content these days knowing that I can still run whenever I want to.
All that said, I'm thinking of signing up for my first full marathon in 2025. No pressure but to finish. If I do one it will have to be somewhere in the North that doesn't get sweltering in April/May because that's about the amount of time I would need to train for it.

Re: The Running Thread
I will finish the year right around 300 miles. That’s down from 500+ last year.
In my defense: Shingles
And cervical radiculopathy.

Re: The Running Thread
Final race if the year this morning. The Frosty 5K in Prospect Park.
Fucking cold but felt good overall. Ended up finishing in 26:07 with an 8:25 pace. Not bad considering I started the race frozen.

I've not ran at much at all since early November but, did 4 slowly today. I could have easily gone two more at that pace, but my stomach started to turn on me. I still had to walk almost a mile and half back home and as soon as I got inside straight to the toilet for instant 'rhea

Woof. That sucks. But I know the feeling. My stomach is always a little worse when I'm not running as regularly.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Very niceepilogue wrote:12.5 @ 9:45![]()
