Same here.

I’m really hoping for a ‘proper’ opener at at least one of the Sydney shows - there are so great ones I’m yet to see (Release, Of The Girl chief among them). My last two shows have opened with Why Go and DTE.
They opened with Why Go when I last saw them too, so at least if nothing else I'm close to guaranteed it'll be something else on Monday.

Would be great to see a few traditional openers but it definitely feels like Ed's leaning into getting the big crowds onside from the first song on this run.

That's nuts.

Hopefully they branch out a bit over the last few shows.

Fingers crossed. I’ll be going in expecting (and even embracing) the trend to continue and let myself be pleasantly surprised if not :)

I think Bris/Syd 09 might be the only time in the last couple of decades that the same song has opened two shows in a row.

RITFW is so dull now. Hope they don’t play it at every show.

It’s a bit grim they’ve played it every night of the leg so far and both Ohana shows beforehand.

I’d go bananas for Fuckin’ Up.

Great Gig. Got down here late in the day. By the time I got to Marvel posters all gone but might have to have a look at beyond the pale. I missed cosmic Psychos and the start of the Pixies set. At least they played longer tonight.

Band come on around 815-820.

Why Go
Elderly Woman. Ed talks about he is wearing shorts as it's "fucking hot, not just being nostalgic".
Given to Fly
Hail, Hail.
Corduroy
React Respond. Ed talks about how you can't be a great band without a great drummer. Introduces Matt as one of the best.
Dark Matter
Eruption with something on the end? I don't know what. Before Mike gets into this Eddie talks about great left handed guitarists. Mentions Hendrix and Cobain. Ed said he didn't know Mike was a leftie until he saw him sign something recently. Not sure how that's possible.
Wreckage. Same intro as GC where he says it's reflective of the recent US election now.
Garden - AWESOME.
Ed talks to a fan member in the circle with a big sign. You could see it from up the back and I was thinking if I was behind them no way it stays up.
Ed said it's a great sign and I'll come back to it but it's really big and there is people behind you. It was good work by Eddie but he later rewarded the nutjob with a tambourine.
Even Flow - Mike goes off on this, does a long trip off stage up against rail.
In My Tree - Big fan of this. The drums at the start were different, kind of a rolling sound to them.
Running.
Jeremy
Wishlist - changes it to "As fortunate as an Aussie". Ed seemed pleased with himself.
Not For You - Epic to hear this again. Stone shines on this in my book.
Picture in a Frame
Mind Your Manners
Porch
Encore break 9.45ish
Eddie comes out. Talks about a skin condition and EBRP. Programs they are working on etc. Introduces AFL Legend Jonathan Brown who is involved.
Plays Just Breathe and it's a messy redition.
Full band back
Inside Job
Do the evolution
Betterman>Save it for Later
SOLAT
Alive
RITFW
Yellow Ledbetter
10:45 close

Great show. I was seated which was strange after such a long time not. All the new songs again seem well received by crowd. Probably more so than anything since about 2003. The sound tonight was also much better than Gold Coast. Much louder and you could hear Eddie. Crowd singing was quite loud but you still got the band.
Marvel stadium has awful seats but it is so easy to get out of. Someone needs to teach us QLDers how to build like that. Tell you what though I cannot believe how many people can't stay in their seats for 10 minutes without needing a beer.
From up high you could see quite a few people getting pulled from the pit. I assume either drunk or dehydrated. A couple didn't look great. Also a guy before the show appeared to have done his knee or broken his leg. Was on the green whistle being trolleyed out.

Excellent show.

Eruption into Wreckage… that seems like quite a mismatch.

Another vote for Fuckin' Up

I'm again pretty happy with the setlist. Think it's been two good ones so far, I haven't looked at sets much this tour so hard to know if fairly standard or not. I am pretty happy to hear any of the new tracks live at least once. React Respond is a better song live, I though Running might be too but not sure it was tonight.

One big thing tonight was none of the call respond stuff that was all over the Gold Coast show.
But as it is will dream of her tonight..

Eruption wasn't a scratch on the version Mike pulled out for the Gold Coast. Would like to know the riffs at the end were?

Really enjoying Wreckage live.
