I agree. PJ just works best when they are not overthinking it, and Andrew seems to get that right. I have no problem with him just stay far and far away from Serban Ghenea as mixing engineer..

There was just a post on instagram from the italy pj website that said a handful of songs were recorded in Australia and one of the songs was called Pressure Point

I hope they don't work with Wotman again.
The fact they were recording demos without him seems encouraging.

If his legacy is convincing the band to write songs together in the same room, I'd consider it a big win.Birds in Hell wrote:I hope they don't work with Wotman again.

I'm OK with that, providing Wotman isn't also in the same room.Monkey_Driven wrote:If his legacy is convincing the band to write songs together in the same room, I'd consider it a big win.Birds in Hell wrote:I hope they don't work with Wotman again.

I'd ideally want them to broaden their approach more than they did on Dark Matter, that 'eyeball to eyeball' style would've never produced songs like Dance of the Clairvoyants, In the Moonlight, etc.

If they can keep that approach of just sharing the demo working it out and having it on tape and released in as short a time as possible im all for it. its all ive ever waned them to do rather than overthinking and stuff losing its energy and becoming contrived and overthought in the studio process..just get it down and out as quickly as they can and done..the songs are all the brighter and have more vitality and life in them that way.
agree with not having him involved at all though. Not if its gonna have that drum sound and myriad versons on different streaming platforms. Who has time for that. Release the record you want the way its meant to sound. Not multiple versions of it.

Interesting.
Skip to 13min 10sec in this clip (if you can get past the lame Aussie radio cringe).

I don't know what I want from Pearl Jam anymore; as long as it's something they're passionate about, as long as it isn't half-assed, I'll probably enjoy it
I think there are plusses and minuses to Wott being involved again, but if they can take the passion they rediscovered from him and find someone else with drive and experimentation, I won't say no

If Pearl Jam keeps making songs, I will keep listening to them, and there's a good chance I will connect with them no matter who is producing. This band has been with me my entire adult life. So much appreciation.

As long as they enjoy working together, I’m fine with what we get. Some songs I may not like and others I will love.
