You could erase all of Star Wars TV except Ahsoka and I'd be fine with it. And that's not to diss Andor, which is excellent. But certainly unessential.

It's ok to admit Ahsoka wasn't very good.
We'll, sure. If you feel that way. Obviously, I disagree.

But you weren't talking about good, you were talking about essential.

Andor, though brilliant, isn't essential. It doesn't move the ball at all. Take it away and Star Wars is literally the same. Ahsoka, has expanded the galaxy and the story.
Essential for the cultural zeitgeist and overall quality, not for their contribution to the SW story at large.

That being said, I watched the entire Ahsoka series and discussed it here but I can't remember more than 2-3 story elements from it.
Ah.

Different takes on the word essential. Thanks for clarifying.

To your cultural zeitgeist point, I'd only remind the chat that Ahsoka's numbers were higher than Andor's. And while Ahsoka's dropped toward the end, the finale numbers were still higher than any episode of Andor. At least according to the numbers I saw reported forever ago. Though, streaming numbers are hard to know for sure. Certainly, Andor was a bigger critical darling.

Since you didn't like it that much and don't remember it, I should stop shilling and just admit that I couldn't possibly have liked it that much either. You got me! Ahsoka totally sucks!
It was good. But I hope the second season is better. However, I don’t think they set it up that well.

GREAT STAR WARS
1. Ahsoka
2. Andor
3. The Clone Wars
4. Rebels

GOOD BUT FLAWED
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi
6. The Acolyte
7. Tales of the Jedi

MORE MISSES THAN HITS
8. The Mandalorian
9. The Book of Boba Fett

BEAUTIFULLY MADE BUT FLAT
10. The Bad Batch
11. Visions
12. Resistance

I also took the opportunity to revise my rankings a bit. This feels more accurate.

Yes.

We can agree that Ray Stevenson is a great loss.

I love these:

Mando s1-2
Andor

These are okay (some episodes or arcs, in this category, were good or even great):
The Clone Wars (animated show)
Ahsoka
The Book of Boba Fett
Kenobi
Mando s3
(there’s a gap here, but those below this are not bad)
Rebels (animated show)
Resistance
Tales Of The Jedi

These are bad:
The Bad Batch
Visions

These tiers seem right to me. Though I'd probably move Kenobi to the bottom of the middle tier. Such a missed opportunity.

How will Skeleton Crew fit in? And how about the original Clone Wars show?
