I am maybe a third of the way through the Kendrick Lamar album. I am always frustrated because the music, timing, and atmosphere is fantastic. But I feel like he gets in the way of his own genius with barrage of cursing. It’s as if he could be a conductor but chooses to be Andrew Dice Clay instead.

Just discovered Honeyglaze. Their 2024 album (Real Deal) is fucking stupid good! Holy shit... Can't recommend it enough. Very indie, very 90s. :heartbeat:

So good!

Put this on in the car today on your recommendation. I enjoyed it. Made me think of later 90s.

Lovely record!

If you're looking for a late 90s indie sound queue up Nancy by Office Dog. One of the best songs of the year, I reckon you'd dig it.

I fell off the music wagon the last few months. I've been trying to make up for it by looking around the internet for things that strike my fancy. There's a band called Been Stellar, who I heard have been touring with Fontaines D.C., and they're pretty good. They've got an album called Scream from New York, NY - good stuff. And I like the newest Good Morning album, The Accident.

other than that, in no particular order...

Fontaines D.C. - Romance
Wild Pink - Dulling the Horns
Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future

there are others that I probably need to give repeat listens to.

Also: 2am, Silence Is Golden and Expert in a Dying Field by The Beths are absolutely flawless songs that have a sweet 90s indie vibe.

The Good Morning record is nice. Pretty laidback, doesn't demand your attention (but in a good way).

Diving into the Been Stellar record now...

I don't know if you do this, or anyone else for that matter, but when I rank, it's typically based on the number of listens.

If you also do this, how many times would you say you listened to that Cindy Lee album?
