Spotify Wrapped

Post by B »

This year my family finally paid for enough profiles for us to each have our own.

I can't wait to see how little I listen to Mr. Brightside in 2025.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

These was my post:

23,327 minutes. 3.558 songs, Dark Matter being the mostly played one (91 times), seems i listened a lot of vampire rock (?) and grunge in april while in may i listened to a lot of pixie permanent wave(??) and alt rock then in september i chose boujee, futbol and rap(???). 696 artists with Pj being the number 1.

1.Pearl Jam
2.Jack White
3.RHCP
4.Billie Eilish
5.The Smile

Kinda feel Kim Deal and Jerry Cantrell got robbed but i think these guys only uses a few early months for this thing.

I also figure that if you go artist by artist and click in ¨share¨ on their profile you can see their number in a top 20 ranking

this are the ones i discovered so far:

1 pearl jam
2 jack white
3 rhcp
4 billie eilish
5 the smile
6 The Smashing Pumpkins
7 Childish Gambino
8 The Rolling Stones
9 Jerry Cantrell
10 St Vincent
11 Vince Staples
12 Led Zeppelin
13 Pixies
15 Beyonce
16
17
18
19
20 Jorge Lopez Ruiz

I like that this has a dedicated thread. But we should expand the thread title to include Apple and other similar steamers' year end lists.

I'd be curious to know this info for my own listening (I like useless stats), but I'll never use a streaming service so it'll never happen

You can use last.fm. You don't need to use a streaming service for that

Is that like Letterboxd for music? Do you manually log everything you listen to?

No, it integrates with your digital media player(s). So you can listen to your FLAC collection or your CDs, and as long as you do it through an app that supports Last.fm scrobbling it'll capture it. I have mine hooked up to my Spotify and TIDAL, and it also captures whenever I stream on Bandcamp, YouTube music, or I play my collection on iTunes. The only thing I listen to that it can't track is vinyl records, though I'm sure there are ways around that.

Looking up reviews of the iOs Last.fm app and it sounds it's buggy as hell and frequently misses scrobbles.

What's your beef with streaming? Spotify is so good for discovering artists.

I sought out the new record and listened to it a couple of times. But by and large, I didn't really care much this year either. The issue is that she's on every goddamn Spotify playlist! When I'm at work I usually just throw on something Spotify curated so I don't have to think about it or offend other co-workers.

But honestly, Chappell Roan and Olivia Rodrigo and Last Dinner Party and Beyonce were all on all of those playlists, too. And I sought out their respective records way more than Taylor's. So... I something stinks!

I'm too used to maintaining my own downloaded library. Not interested in paying for streaming access and I like seeking out new artists in my own ways.

I see yeah. I barely listened to her because she want even in the top 20. Beyonce was 15th which also seems very weird but at least i listened to her album a few times.
