In the great tradition of Pearl jam fans being the main reason most normal people don’t like Pearl jam as it’s always being pushed on them by their pal who is a demented rabid Pearl jam fan
It is a great movie though. It’s not like anything you’ll have ever seen. I wouldn’t lie to you.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Remember this quote. Well, I’m finally watching it.Jorge wrote:As mentioned, I went to the screening/Q&A in St Louis last night. The movie is still really horrible (the more I think about Dante's arc the angrier I get), but Kevin Smith later came out and gave a detailed summary of the original Clerks 3 script that they were supposed to make a few years ago and was canceled. It's a much darker and more interesting story that got kind of avant garde, though it still has some cringy aspects (it folded in Hurricane Sandy and the Aurora shooting into the plot).Jorge wrote:Clerks 3 is worse than bad. It is fucking vile. I don't know what's wrong with Kevin Smith's brain that he felt this was an acceptable product to put out. Tossed together haphazardly, amateurish beyond belief (even more so than the first one, at least in writing), CHEAP and ridiculously saccharine in its emotional beats, no rhyme or reason to it. Treacly, in a very cynical way. Just trash, his worst film yet. And I am watching it again in St Louis because my friend bought tickets to his screening/Q&A roadshow.
Also this morning as we were having breakfast we were surprised to see Smith and his entourage walk through the lobby and into a car outside; turns out we were staying at the same hotel.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Watched the first half of the movie, and so far I’ve laughed out loud once, chuckled or grinned a few times, felt quite a bit of nostalgia a few times, and thought the dramatic elements and the overall story/plot has been decent. Will finish the movie later today.

Finished the movie. Can confirm that I thought it was good, and had a really good time watching it.

I think it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, incompetent at every level and horrifically unfunny

It had some funny scenes, but was more a drama, than a comedy.

I felt bad for Brian O'Halloran not only for what they did to his character but for the fact that they gave him so many blubbering crying scenes that are completely outside of his range as an actor

He’s no Laurence Olivier, but I think he did fine in this movie.

Re: What movies are you watching?
my attention wandered a little in the third act of "The Wild Robot" but I am tired, so... otherwise I thought it was a really delightful movie, genuinely funny and emotionally poignant

Smith's decline has been legendary. He's so bad now.

Fasbender is used just the right amount. But looks nothing like Naoise. They should’ve done something with the eyes there.

Just finished Super/Man, the doc on Christopher Reeve. Fantastic film. Never knew he had regained some movement before he died. His youngest kid looks like the perfect Superman.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!
