Re: What movies are you watching?
When the third or fourth book was released, I remember there were long lines at every book store in Oslo. Lots of young teens, especially girls. I was a bit puzzled by it then, and couldn't really imagine it would be a significant work in my life. This was before any of the movies.
However, a year or two later, I was really charmed by the first movie, and a few years after that I read the books (let's say between 2005-2007). Very enjoyable books. After that the movies (and I'm a movie guy), couldn't really live up to the books. Still fun movies to watch, and also every girlfriend I've had has been into them.
With my interest in both movies and culture in general, I couldn't imagine still fully ignoring them. But that's just me. You do you.

Sorry pal.
Out of everyone on here I think you’d enjoy it most of all. That’s the crazy thing.
I’ll tone it down.

Speaking of fun - I'm giving Spiderman (2002) a rewatch.

The best book is CLEARLY 4. But I'll also accept 3 as an answer. 5 and 2 are the worst books of the series, but for very different reasons.Anders wrote:Think five is the best book, and the movie lets it down.epilogue wrote:5 is the potentially the best of the films because it's the only one that is better than the novel it's based on.The Argonaut wrote:I wanted to watch the Cuaron one. I believe them. Harry Potter fans are like Swifties-tier annoying. Makes you never want to engage with the source material.

I've just never been interested. Some magic child? Some kind of baby wizard? Get out of here

I worked at a theater when those movies started coming out. It was hell. My brother loved the books so we saw all the movies. They were alright, but I have no desire to revisit them.

Re: What movies are you watching?
The books are great, but I've never really been able to get into the movies.
