Started rewatching The Wire S2 last night. This really is the best season. The McNulty/BPD Homicide feud is only rivaled by the Valchek/Sobotka feud. Plus -- all things dockworker. My favorite late capitalist theme.

The present day/aftermath stuff was just so lame. The show should have stayed in the crash site/survival setting IMO. Even if they dragged it out like Lost it would have been better than where they went with it.VinylGuy wrote:S1 is awesome yeah. But I'm glad Joe is still enjoying it.

I love S2. It's probably my second fav.
But S1 is the best. The Towers. D'Angelo. Omar in his element. That shit was peak.

Watched the first batch of Secret Level shorts on Prime. Most of them sucked. But the Keanu Reeves one had some potential and the Warhammer 40k one was leagues better quality than the others.

We started the Mike Douglas show about Ben Franklin’s time in France during the American Revolution. So much French and subtitles.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
We started the new Netflix show, No Good Deed, last night. Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow are the leads. Three eps in and it’s been a fun ride so far. Dennis Leary is in it. Linda Lavin. And god bless Linda Cardellini. It’s by the same woman that did Dead To Me.

Recently finished up Succession and the first season of True Detective. Anything I watch next will be a let down.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Finished up the most recent season of "From" last night. Some good stuff centering around the dangers and challenges getting progressively worse vs. many shows that would let up on the gas pedal and let the characters catch their breath. It feels more tense that way. But the dialogue and acting are not great, and it pisses me off to no end that the characters don't really talk to each other in any meaningful way that might help them figure things out.
