Re: Broadway Joey
Spamalot last night. I had seen a local production of it and of course love Holy Grail. This didn't disappoint, although the first act was way more fun and entertaining. The second act was a little drawn out and the actors seemed tired/bored. Still fun though minus my intermission emergency (see poop thread)

snagged 2 tickets for this while were in London..
Patrick Marber to direct Nachtland, a play about Hitler's art and 'rise of the new right' Patrick Marber is to direct a new play at London's Young Vic theatre in which a family argue over what to do with a piece of art that may have been painted by Adolf Hitler..

Really hoping this gets an NYC production. Sounds like a really interesting show. Marber's great!

Saw Merrily We Roll Along last night, finally. I had been reluctant but that was one of the best live theater experiences of my life.
Everybody has one, and I finally found my Sondheim.

Re: Broadway Joey
One of my all time favorite plays is Uncle Vanya by Chekhov. I just went to see the new revival/translation. It was overall lovely but I had some real issues with the translation. Much of the cast was outstanding, though. Especially William Jackson Harper and Allison Pill, both of which deserve awards for their work.

She's great. If you ever get the chance to see her live on stage, take it. Doesn't matter what the show is. She'll be fantastic in it.

Re: Broadway Joey
Ah. Would help if I'd read text... sorry, trag.
But, no, I have not seen any of those plays. I am a big huge fan of the Humana Festival, though! It's one of my favorite things. I got to go to one in like 2000? 2001? I can't remember off the top of my head. But it's an amazing festival, and if his work was a part of it, I'm sure it's interesting and I'd probably like it.

My wife directed the kids version of Beetlejuice the musical in April. My youngest stepson is in the teen version of Hadestown now (just got back from seeing it), my wife is currently directing a middle school version of Joseph and the technicolor dream coat, then she is directing the teen version of beetlejuice. She also gives voice/audition lessons from our house three days a week. I’m earning my spot in this thread.

That’s so cool.
I was in Joseph once. In school.
Know the pharaoh? I was one of the servants. And I had to fan him with a palm frond as he was lounging eating grapes etc
Ireland not being known for its palm trees, a palm front had to be made from wood. And painted accordingly.
Here comes the big night and there’s me fanning the pharaoh and I fainted. Flat on my face.
They just carried on
The show must go on!
