My dudes, nothing booked yet but I’m 90% sure I will be visiting Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Chicago in that order from April 12-19. This is to see MLB home games for the Twins, Brewers, White Sox, and Cubs.

That is Mrs. Bam’s definition of torture so it will just be me and my 9 year old boys.

First, looking to see which RMers are in these cities and might want to join for a game.

Second, looking for any transportation tips to stadiums from downtown areas aside from Ubers.

Third, any other recommendations for meals, sightseeing, etc. in these great midwestern American cities.

How cold is it going to be?

April baseball in the Upper Midwest can be cold af. I’ve attended some brutal opening days in Milwaukee and Chicago. Definitely pack winter coats, and invest in warm socks and shoes. Your feet can get real cold on the concrete at Wrigley after an hour.

At least the Brewers have a retractable dome now. And crazy the Twins don’t have one.

For Milwaukee, lots of bars do shuttles to games, but it can be rowdy and probably not a great atmosphere for your boys. There’s plenty of parking around Am Fam; tailgating is a thing and will be happening in April despite the weather. It’s not terrible just driving to the park from downtown; Milwaukee traffic isn’t next level or anything.

For Chicago, the L is the best way to get to Wrigley from downtown (red or brown/purple line) There’s no parking, so if you drive you’ll be parking off an alley somewhere. Dudes will be holding up signs to park in their garage for $50 minimum.

There’s parking at whatever the Sox’s park is called now, but still probably easier to take the L (red line) from downtown.

I always recommended making a reso at Smoke Daddy across from Wrigley before a game, great BBQ. Big Star next door has an expansive bourbon menu.

Ricobene’s is a classic before/after stop for a Sox game. Get this beast:
