Spoiler: show
I wasnt talking about intentions. She seems fixated and obsessed with finding out if he did it. Thats why she need him to look at her eyes, or gets the final video (which seems its way more explicit in terms of his appearance). And she does it because she needs to win and loves watching the others loose, as in poker. There are hints with her being in the spectrum too. Its really interesting.

Ah okay, I see what you're saying, that makes more sense. Still a bit different than my read but sure.

finally saw Nosferatu last night

an absolutely gorgeous and poetic film, with one or two slightly rushed elements so I hope I eventually get to see the extended cut (I won't be buying any physical media for it)

it's probably #2 after The Witch in my Eggers ranking

I now live in awareness that Emilia Pérez exists, this seemed like the right thread to express that

Nosferatu.

I was expecting more. Eggers seems restrained and he chooses to deliver a cool movie, gothic, violent and very interesting but feels it could have been way more weirder and gory.

Lily Rose Depp was very good i love how intense she gets.

I feel as if there has been a little bit of a tussle between what Eggers wants and what the studios want, since The Northman, but I don't know, I feel like this time Eggers emerged from the tussle with a much better film; I'm glad he's going for broke and trying to become the Big Name director, he 100% deserves it more than most, but I hope he doesn't stop making weird little indie chamber pieces too

I don't think we'd have got the historic detail in Nosferatu from anyone but Eggers; I particularly enjoyed all the foreign language Romani stuff

after The Northman I remember hearing that he initially wanted the whole movie to be in Old Norse but the studio didn't let him

yeah, i see this too. Maybe this one was the movie they both wanted to make and expect it to do well in the box office and in the awards seasons. And he is still giving us a very good movie, full with very imaginative sequences and great performances.

So far Coppola´s Dracula remains untouchable to me.

Also they shown the trailer for WolfMan, and im really looking forward to it. Seems like a mix between classic Hammer and body horror like The Fly.

And Whannell always gives me something to like, im a huge fan of what he did with The Invisible Man.

based on a rewatch I am very confident in saying that "February / The Blackcoat's Daughter" is Osgood Perkins' best film by a mile
