A balmy 8c as I type. Which is T-shirt warm compared to the last week.

well, having spent time in the european summer all these recent years, i think we have a better one, or at least this city have more to offer you with an intense summer than lets say, Madrid.

2022 was an awful hot summer there and you could feel people kinda melt in the streets. A lot of the apartments dont have AC or swimming pools, which seems kinda crazy.

Had to get up at 5:00 so I could start checking the weather and see if I was going to need to close any of my centers. Closed one, I had one that I closed last night because everyone had already called out. So that left me with three open. I closed them by 10:00. Have spent the rest of the day on paperwork and scheduling stuff. Will be up early again tomorrow to try and determine if we’ll be open. I absolutely fucking HATE this time of year.

An entire center’s staff called off because of weather?

Oh yes, indeed. It WAS only 4 people, tho.

Madrid is a gorgeous town. Only been the once but would love to go back in any weather.

Toe is apparently fractured in two places. Toenail needs to come off, but there's something gnarly about the way I've done this which means they may be sending me to see an orthopedic surgeon

Mom had another surgery to remove her kidney and fix a hernia today. Doctors said it went very well, but she's in a lot of pain no one can see her yet. Lingering effects of cancer treatment a few years ago. I hope this is it and she doesn't have to do this anymore.
