CCK is not banned from here. He hasn't asked to have his name removed, which is pointless anyhow.

And anyone who the 10C can identify as talking about the song puts their 10C membership at risk.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

It just seems like common sense, though?

His username wasn't in the thread title originally - one of the mods has included it, which just seems like (as Jorge said) chucking him under the bus in a very explicit way.

It puts a spotlight on him in a way that seems designed to invite negative attention.

No shame intended. He's got bigger problems.
That sounds super ominous.

Birds in Hell wrote:I think it's as simple as the board owners/mods prefer not to cause any friction with the band/their management. There's frequent sharing of material that happens here the band could shut down but don't - I'm thinking the fan made compilations in particular.

Shutting down discussion is a huge step but this is also a pretty significant leak, I imagine it's causing some level of internal discussions and recriminations right now. I wouldn't be surprised if some of this material is/was planned for a new archival release, so there might be additional sensitivity about its broader dissemination. From their perspective, RM is where the material first (openly) circulated and the discussion here no doubt filtered across to the official board, Reddit, FB groups, etc. - I expect that's why the board has come under scrutiny.
agree or disagree, but this is a large part of the decision making. whether or not we have to comply, we are choosing to. The communication that B and I have been part of have been clear that the band, internally, views this as different. And while we are not part of the band’s orgainzation, we are not looking to have a hostile relationship- partly for reasons above, and honestly, partly as lifetime fans taking seriously the wishes of the band we love.

it may not be the choice you would have made but it is the one we made. So little is off limits here. if we put something in that bucket we would ask that you trust it is for a good reason and ask that you abide by it. whenever you dont the primary people who receive grief and have extra work are B and I. and I get it if its just B. But its me, too!

Yeah, RM is a privilege not a right.

That said, I think most folks here are aware of the PJ fan caste system (if you aren't, guess what) where this type of content and more is discussed and exchanged through invite only channels. I'm not suggesting anyone here participates, I don't so I wouldn't know who does, the mods just gotta expect some level of jealous reaction from the out crowd as this is where most of us get our 'serious collector' stuff.

Does ranking count as discussion?

How does one rank that which you can't discuss?

Thanks for explaining your reasoning. I hate it, but it's not my board!

The band always behaved like this when something was stolen or leaked and they consider it very private ( aka the pearl jam movie or the birdman sessions) so this is nothing new.

Well see eventually if they release any kind of stuff or they go warmer with talking bout it. Its very recent.
