Clearest view of the boys I’ve yet seen. Great read. Get it into ye.
"If we win an Oscar, we’ll take it to Cash My Gold, melt it down and get some gold teeth made." It's been Kneecap's year, we just lived through it

Is this some covert Star Wars movie? Is that why you keep trying to make us all watch it?
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Not at all.
Those kids from that community in Belfast never get even a minutes look in. No funding no support no help at all. A Protestant state for a Protestant people. No more. Kneecap broke that. They’re lifting the whole place and it’s about time.
Put it all behind us and have a laugh and move on.
Matters not to me a fuck if you don’t watch it but it’s your loss.
I just know RM would love it if it gave it a go. But again. Who cares.
Still gonna push it and dance about it after they win at the Oscar’s.
Not my first go around on that

It will be. I think the song nomination is a reach but the international film is a shoo in.
They don’t even have to win, they already have.

In that case, they should decline the nomination and give someone else a chance to win.dimejinky99 wrote:E.H. Ruddock wrote:Hopefully it will be nominated for an Oscar!

Re: Movie: Kneecap (2024)
Moglaís dad died yesterday. Nobody’s done more for Irish in the north than him.
They’re playing their biggest ever Belfast show tonight in the SSE. Last time I was in there was for Pearl jam. I might go up for it.
Gearóid Ó Cairealláin, father of Móglái Bap passed away last night.
He was an Irish language revolutionary, community activist, loving father, husband and an inspiration to many.
We are heartbroken.
Tonight's concert at the SSE arena will be the largest Irish language gig in the city's history.
Nothing would have made him prouder.
Tonight is for him.

You're a dedicated Kneecapper. How long of a bus ride is it from Dublin to Belfast?dimejinky99 wrote:On the bus to Belfast

Oh god.
It’s meant to be only two hours. Nonstop Dublin to Belfast apart from one stop at Dublin airport.
It stopped at Dublin airport and a load of fuckery ensued with some tourists and their baggage. Yadda yadda blah blah.
With the resuit I missed my girl Gemma Dunleavy playing support. (Up the flats!)
Would have been good to be a Dublin voice in the crowd for her. (There were loads as it turns out.)
Got to see the Gurriers though.
Fuckin incredibly good. They have the songs and the live presence. Watch out for them.
You’re gonna hear them soon and a lot.
Then kneecap.
No words. Blown away. They tore the place apart and the crowd…
9 or 10,000 kids all singing and rapping as gaeilge/in Irish
I was bawling crying for a lot of it. Our people we abandoned and left behind. Please god we get them home soon. Fierce joy and full voice.
They were amazing.
*dunno how that kid moglai bap did this gig his dad dying yesterday. And a Belfast legend and community activist. But very last song they just stuck on Fairytale of New York ‘this is for me Da’ and the crowd took over immediately.
Bawling. One of the most magical gigs I’ve ever been lucky to be at.
** bus home was a fucker cos I fell asleep and got off at Dublin airport by mistake and couldn’t find my wallet and was walking down the motorway when I found it in my top pocket and just got a cab. Sure lookit. These are the things that make it memorable

And yes they’d just arrived in their dressing room and the police were in with a sniffer dog

Leading to the rousing chorus of ‘your sniffer dogs are shite’ during the gig
