There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.

It took me about a month of shitty sleep to start to feel like I was achieving a new normal.
While I have no personal experience with this, I did listen to a podcast with a doctor who said she tells her patients it takes 90 days to reset your mind and body and rebalance. She tends to recommend at least six months for people really trying to reset.

Yea, im not finding it difficult at all not to drink. Weight still isn't really falling off even though im eating super clean, often calorie deficient, and exercising daily. Athletic Brewing IPA's are great.

I hear anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months now about real change....lol.

3 months for peak sharpness of mind. A couple of weeks for weight loss. Alcohol free beer still has loads of calories so...

I mean, im not going to get drunk but ill have a tequila with dinner or something!

Actually, we'll see. Im just being realistic as well.

Ahtletic Brewing IPA only has like 65 calories. Not bad. And i usually only have 1 if i decide to treat myself to that.

While Dry January has been pretty easy/doable for me, and no doubt i will experience many benefits from doing such a thing, one unfortunate issue for me is that no matter what - because of sleep apnea - my sleep will never be what i want it to be.

Sigh.

Kinda disappointed how I posted lots of questions in this thread, and no one gave thoughtful responses. Shitty support group. Some were directly addressed to Trag but I guess he's still big-timing me.
