The Official Neil Young Thread

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

As impressive as it is to hear him give so much of himself to the vocals, my biggest takeaway is that I really, really like the song.
Every sentence in my head, someone else has said.

I'm guessing it's the original version compiled by David Briggs that is supposed to be only from those sessions and with a lot of talking between songs.

And there are more tracks from the sessions that weren't on Archives II (Lookout Joe is one I have seen mentioned - not the earlier version on the final album).

But who knows.

listened to Mirror Ball all the way through today

love that album

to think you could have Stone and Neil on an album together

and Jack's drumming is so perfect for this

On the other hand, dark matter
maybe the DM production would sound better on a Pono

Mirrorball dropped during peak Eddie, so you never would have thought it at the time, but how great would things have been if Neil and PJ decided to team up for good after that. Vedder was close to dropping out of the limelight.

I would generally say we are probably more fortunate that didn’t happen. Pearl Jam would go on to create No Code, Yield, Binaural, Riot Act, etc - great albums, and Neil would have Silver & Gold, Psychedelic Pill, and a bunch of great records of his own and with Crazy Horse…and as much as I love Pearl Jam, I at least can say I think Crazy Horse fits Neil Young better than any other band, including Pearl Jam.

It would have been nice for them to collaborate again, but full time would have limited them both.
