Speaking as someone who has been a community manager of several sites in the past, you have to appreciate the firefighting required when members want to take a discussion in one route and legal reps of a business/body/member are demanding the conversation is shut down. Here is what I learned today

Amazon requested an initial order which we incorporated into our decision to order stock from Fonthill. That stock arrived on 16 Jan and we shipped out Amazon’s copies to their warehouse.

Then it appears Amazon began to run out of stock (when I checked the book page the other day it claimed they only had 20 copies left, though this message has disappeared). They placed another order with us and we now have more stock on the way from you, but the anticipated arrival is 20 Feb, so in the meantime Amazon is most likely globally sourcing the copies they need from the next best location (which is from somewhere in the UK). This is my best guess why the shipping date is mid-Feb to early March.

If this is correct it would mean that sales have been going through, with the first shipment to Amazon sold out and another on its way.

I've yet to encounter someone on social media who ordered and received the book, but that doesn't mean they haven't.

I've given up trying to predict this. The publisher is tired of getting bitchy e-mails from me. B should write the next one
