You're a mystery wrapped in an enigma, stip. I like it, but I can't even begin to understand it

Yeah but Tool remind you of when you were young and thus alive. Give us more examples.

This album is surely another triumph, but when The Suburbs comes on after "Supersymmetry" in the digital library I switch into a whole other gear and start dancing like a goofy bastard. So there it is.

This album needs more listens for me. I have never liked an entire album of AF but there's always a good6-8 that get me going. Similar with LCD.

Love the first track though.

That's my most listened to album based on the strength of "Right in Two" and "Wings pt. II", among others. But I'm very much in the minority there.

The wings cycle and the single are really the only songs on that one I cared about. On the other hand, wings Part II is 10 minutes long.

I think my issues with longer songs is that there's more time for something to go wrong (see the end of Reflektor, and so it better be adding a lot. Tool's length never really bothered me because the songs went to important places by the end, or I liked what I was listening to a lot that I didn't mind it droning on.

Wake Up and Antichrist Blues are both 5 plus minutes, AND they are arcade fire songs. Does that count?

You're alright, Stip. A spanner in our collective works is healthy for discussion. Keep doing what you're doing.

Pretty much everything that you've identified as a fault. I love that Regina (I only learned of her name today, thanks bro) can add an ethereal backing at perfect times while Win delivers somewhat of a Bryne/Tweedy mish mash of sensibility and waywardness on lead vocals. The chord progressions are Ween/Beatles-tier refined and the textures wouldn't be out of place on an Eno record. This band is amazing.

Oh also they're as creatively erratic as your good friend Billy Corgan: They don't give a shit, they'll just do it. I have loads of respect for that.

I listened to every single other album of theirs entirely too many times. 10k has more variety than anything that came before it. It holds up better. Read it and weep.

I'm not sure why you think I'm obsessed with Billy Corgan. I think Siamese Dream is amazing. I think Mellon Collie is mostly amazing. I like adore. I think Machina has a few good songs on it, and everything from then on is basically horrible. I'm not sure I've ever seen such an enormous decline in ability from one artist.
