Practically all Hispanics in our county have stopped going to schools and churches because it’s been announced that the sheriff’s department is going to start raiding those locations for deportations on behalf of ICE. Never mind that most are actual citizens. If you’re Hispanic, you’re gone.

Harris took over 1 billion in campaign funding. If she had won and Bezos and musk and Zuckerberg had been at her inauguration, it wouldn’t feel so transactional and seedy. Or as dangerous. When it would have in reality been all the same thing.
Whatever you attribute to Trumps ascendancy a second time, how much can you blame democrats actions/inaction for it? Whatever the answer, it’s time for them to get their act together now and construct a response. He’s not going to be able to deliver on any of the big promises on bread and butter issues like inflation, especially not while getting into tariff wars with neighbours and allies. So start there. In two years ordinary Americans are going to be really feeling it at the supermarket checkout and gas pump. Far more than now. Get out ahead on that and make it clear it’s down to him.

I would only add that as long as dem voters are stuck in a reactive, anti-trump mode -- something they've been in for nearly a decade now -- they won't be able to do much of anything. As long as they are still terrified of Trump, they'll continue be stuck supporting a rapidly rotting order, with aimless, demoralized troops led by walking corpses. A positive, non-reactive program (hopefully free of the lunacy that has infected the left over the last fifteen years, but that's just my opinion) is what it takes to win.

No more/less legit than any of the other posters — “I work at the FDA.” But then I personally had dinner with an FDA prime contractor a couple nights ago, and while he didn’t talk about rollbacks of trials with minority groups, he talked about other stuff that doesn’t make this seem unreasonable.

I think I found it. It appears the FDA has removed a document requiring device and drug companies submit plans for increased test subject diversity in every late stage regulatory approval trial. I can absolutely see someone interpreting “the FDA will no longer force you to” as “the FDA doesn’t want you to”
