Ah that explains it. Good stuff thank you pal.
I’d given up the D+ sub. Just too expensive and I wasn’t ever even watching anything on it.
I’ll rent it off one of the others.
What movies are you watching?

I tried to see Emilia Pérez yesterday.
Only lasted for 35 minutes. Kinda shocked with it. I’ll try to watch at least an hour.

Loved Nosferatu. What a fun movie. I thought it nailed the perfect tone. Just the right amount of campy fun mixed in with all the gloomy dread. Excellent tonal balance. Pretty remarkable in the visual department as well.

I'm putting my tolerance for bad CGI to the test with a rewatch of escape from La.

I love Carpenter and Kurt Russell, but this is just a worse version the original movie.
Is there a studio movie with worse CGI than this?

But, yeah, all snark aside, there are some cool ideas in it. It just doesn't work overall. At less than 90 mins, it's easy to focus on some of the cooler aspects, too. Which is good. To your point, it's hard to fault/criticize a guy who takes so many interesting swings -- or at least, it's not as much fun for me.

Re: What movies are you watching?
he is a very odd case. I was surprised he did so many movies, lots of them were box offices disappointments and yet he continued to film a movie a year sometimes. He is sure an industry type of guy, thats why he still makes whatever he wants, which is pretty good.
I just wish he was more consistent and have more of a voice, or an more interesting aesthetic.
