Happy when I’m cryin should be in that exact spot. It would balance perfectly with push me pull me on side b

They could’ve made the greatest album of all time had they just done that.
But noooo isn’t radio friendly enough.

Radio friendly? When have you ever heard Pilate on the radio?

Pilate is so not radio friendly. The chorus are a conscious attempt to make a pretty song, ugly.

Pilate is as good as it gets. I would be sad to think otherwise.

Pilate was b side to given to fly and got more AirPlay in loads of places. Italy being a big one.

Coming out of wishlist. The slightest uptempo but total change of tone.
And bam! Into evolution.

That’s how my yield track list has been for decades. I haven’t heard Pilate in years.
Saw it live once. Cardiff. Meh.

Brain of J should’ve been on No Code and HWIC fills that spot on Yield though not necessarily as the opener.

My little brain doesn’t understand why they left BoJ and BRY off of No Code.

When I think of the Yield "sound," it's the verses and bridge to "Pilate" that come to mind -- breezy, contented, sweet, and that perfectly relaxed tone from Eddie. I'm glad it's on the album. Though I certainly wouldn't object to "HWIC" getting a slot in the running order as well.

Yeah i like Pilate a lot, even if it was never a favorite from that album, its a song it grew a lot on me with time.

I’m also pro-Pilate. It’s grown on me over time. It adds a messy little wrinkle to the otherwise glossy and grandiose Yield.

I listen to (and like) Pilate far more than I do Given to Fly, Wishlist, MFC, or In Hiding. Keep your gross hands off it.

Pilate is a great song. But then I think Yield is almost perfection and I wouldn't change a thing about it. It's OK Computer and Sea Change great to my ears.

Imagine it right after a highly spirited performance of Porch in the second slot.

Pilate is great!

I saw it live in 2010 and it was really cool.
