The LB live outro just makes me like the album version less and less. It would have been such a better song without the fade. They give the song such an amazing outro live, why would you spoil that with a fade on the album???

So that the live version gives you something special to look forward to. I've said it a million times but the album fade makes the live version that much better.

Just watched last night's performance. Unless I'm forgetting something obvious, that was easily their best live TV performance since Grievance on Letterman, amirite?

Whether you love it, like it or are just indifferent about it, this song really fits the band's current form like a glove. If someone asked me "what does Pearl Jam sound like in 2013?" This the first clip I'd show them.

I think Life Wasted in '06 was pretty great. I know a lot of people don't like the song, but the performance seemed very good.

I can't find it. Where did they play it? The last one I remember was Ole on Fallon in 2011.

Oh, right. Yeah, the VH1 performance would probably have to be the one.

Flubbing lyrics doesn't really affect how the vocals sound, but they do have a lot to do with the overall appreciation of the song. Since I know the song, I don't care if he repeats the same verses second time around as he did in Wrigley. If you hadn't heard the studio, as we hadn't then, it really didn't affect the appreciation of the song even.
One of his most iconic (maybe the most) performances was flubbed.
Black/unplugged.

Me too. There's no distance at all between Lightning Bolt and classic rock.

Not even fucking close. God, do you ever have anything good to say about this band?
---'s fondness for 2000-era PJ is legend.

I thought these performances were solid enough, just subject to the limitations inherent to Ed's current voice, which is probably just how it's going to be from here on out. Surely people can hear that he's struggling to carry the tune sometimes--he definitely was during large chunks of "Sirens." He sounded like a beast at the end of "Lightning Bolt." The band seemed pretty on during both performances.
