Just say you want a dictatorship and you want Trump out of the way and are using him as a stepping stone and be done with it.

Very reasonable response.

None of this would have sounded controversial to Democrat voters twenty years ago. Democrat voters really dropped the ball sticking with their ancient leadership instead of trying to promote new faces in the Democrat party. These fuckers deserve to lose all the demographics they've been losing.
This shit is so embarrassing.

Apparently Donald Trump is all that's standing between us and a dictatorship.

If we don't get a huge Musk/Trump fallout during the next 4 years I'm going to be insanely disappointed.

A twitter feud that big could make this all worth it.

4 years? If they last 4 months it’ll be a huge surprise.

How many DNC members do you imagine are posting on RM?

definitely zero, but if the sentiment here is in any way a reflection of an emerging national coalition, boy howdy.
It isn't, though. And it never has been. That's one thing that has stunned me about the discourse since, what 2017? 2020?

But also... how telling (and genuinely shocking) that you're making that comment about the "left" but yet have never had issues with the shit those on the right are saying here. I can't wrap my head around that.

Interesting... It could very well be that I live in a formerly purple/newly red state, so my interactions with diehard liberals is limited. But I've assumed the B's posts are basically a reflection of Jaime Harrison's wishlist. My sister and her husband, both MA ultraliberals, espouse all the same goals and values.
And how many of them are in the DNC?

obviously zero, but they think AOC is the bee's knees
Yes. But again, that's separate and different.

Mostly because it's not worth the time; McP does a fine job of launching well-articulated reasonable arguments against GOP policy.

I come at this stuff as a former liberal -- my wife and I were democratic county precinct reps when we first moved to MT! -- who's watched their policies obliterate cities I care about (my hometown, Boston, Portland). So it's easier for me to criticize that which I once believed wholeheartedly, and where I feel (rightly or not) where I can offer more novel opinions. Like, I wish the democrats would begin to embrace things like nuclear energy and fossil fuel, a defensive military posture that eschewed the big brother watchdogging of the post-WWII globalist complex, a social services mindset that embraced the great wealth transfer rather than Federal subsidies. So much opportunity to tell a compelling story if you could just let go of the last 20 years of programming.
And you feel Burt and his ilk are doing that? Are providing a compelling story?

Why wouldn't a dedication to free speech, colorblind society and dismantling shadowy government organizations be a great narrative? These were all formerly liberal causes!
