Re: Disney buys Lucasfilm. Episode VII coming in 2015.
The can make it look like the 'used future' as seen in the original films, cheaply and effectively.
They won't though. But I'm hearing Abrams is pushing for that so hopefully they keep the CGI to a minimum.
Models, sets, bigatures, extras. Do it. It will look and feel better for having done it.
CGI is awful. It ruined the prequels.

I'm sure you guys have watched the Red Letter media reviews, right? The fact that those exist almost justifies the existence of the prequels.

at this point I may like those things more than some of the original trilogy. They're impossibly good.

Oh that.
But like PJ, I often wonder what would happen of a hyper critical fan like this was hired as a consultant, what would be the result?
Could they actually contribute anything worthwhile or do they just like the sound of their own posts?

I think we talked about this at some point -- maybe on the old board -- but has anyone here actually done the Machete Order viewing?

Me too. I really want to give it a view. I think I'd really dig it.

The obvious difference in effects and film quality and overall style would be jarring though.

I think puppet Yoda to CGI Yoda back to puppet Yoda would be the most jarring part.

Part of what made Yoda so charming was his humour, despite the gravity of the situation.
They lost that utterly in the prequels. The could have had that in there so easily and the films would be all the more likeable for it.

There's really just no reason to remember that the prequels exist.
I would be perfectly fine if Abrams ignored them completely and at some point they were "reimagined" from scratch.

Oh I hope not, I think it would make it infinitely more difficult to incorporate Jar-Jar Binks.

Oh my god that would be totally amazing. The Fan Boi flip out would exceed the entertainment value of all the prequels and RoJ combined.
