Argo.

Lenny and sailor were wondering if you’re dead and planning your demise if you weren’t, last night in that other thread.
Just a heads up.

September 5

This was excellent. A nice tight 90 min thriller confined to the POV of a network broadcast control room.

Loved the focus and attention to detail on the analog equipment and the logistics of doing a live broadcast in 1972.

Speaking of Letterboxd, I see some of the RMers on there are subscribed to the Pro version (Anders is even a Patron!). Is it worth the $19? Does it give you any cool analysis of your diary or anything interesting?

I'm not trying to get the algorithm to boost my reviews or anything like that, and the pop-up on the website that says "it looks like you're using an ad-blocker, please don't" is only a little annoying.

$19 isn't a lot, but I'd rather buy lunch if it isn't worth it. Anyone have any impressions?

It's cheaper in Argentina, closer to 10 USD for a whole year. The adblocker popup was annoying so I figured what the heck.

I pay for no ads on the app and the stats (which are fun)

Is letter boxed not just people reviewing films? Do people really pay to do that?

I pay to remove ads and get access to a few extra features, and just to support an app that I use every day.

Well, now that I've already wasted my money, here is some fun stuff Letterboxd is telling me:

I was asking an honest question.

You’re paying money. To review films.

You’re paying some corporation. Actual money.
To review films.

*films you very likely have at home. In your dvd or 4k bullshit

And you’re paying them to review them.

It’s a way to keep track of your movies and likes dime. And maybe find movies you’d like based on what you’ve watched. This is a weird thing for you to be critical of

For the stats. And to not have ads, and support a service you enjoy.

We are adults with disposable income and it's not very expensive, it's fine.
