It's a shame you're not more percussion-centric. That stuff's good throughout this song.HardTI wrote:I still don't love Pendulum. I should though. It's dark and moody, but there's nothing terribly interesting going on and like someone said (Stip, I think), Ed adds very little to this song. I like when his voice gets distorted at that 1 part and I like the ah ah ah ah ahhh part. Other than that I just can't connect with this song. FUCK.
The best part of the song is when Stone comes in with that acoustic guitar later in the song. That part is fantastic.

Re: Lightning Bolt: The Official Album Thread
Im over this album, the good songs are ok, keepers, ive tossed the rest, now I want no.11, or EP no. 2. C'mon pearl jam, mush! Schnell! Gimmie
I wish yellow moon had more loud ass distorted guitars, they went big with piano when they should have gone big with everything else.
Its kinda...empty feeling. Feels like more of a interlude than an actual song. The lyrics amount to 'ooh depressing right?'. The outro is awesomesauce though. And the twangy western guitar yes. Still like it though.HardTI wrote:I still don't love Pendulum. I should though. I've come around on Ed in this. I do think it would have been an awesome instrumental.HardTI wrote:I still don't love Pendulum. I should though. I also agree that the lyrics are definitely not the best thing about Pendulum. At best they're not interesting enough to get in the way.

The vocal in Pendulum is okay (or I guess I should say the melody); it's the least impressive part of the song. I agree with stip that it doesn't really get in the way which is good, but I think the reason I love the vocal ending (the ah-ah-ah part) is that it's the part of the melody that sounds truly inspired and different for Ed.

I was a little put off by the ah ah ah ah part at first--it was distracting. I love it now

I love that the 'ah ah ah' part is so rhythmic and comes in at the point where the drums become more full-bodied Vedder. It's almost a little percussive jam. I say almost because there isn't enough of it. It should go all WMA at that point.

I'm not sure what else I was expecting.
Its nice to see that teenage boyband idiocy refuses to recognize national or racial boundaries.

The East is pretty interesting right now, in that there are like 4 major recording industries growing at just the same time that the world market is dying.stip wrote:okay wait. Did you know that, or did you look it up?McParadigm wrote:Kanjani 8 is a boy band in Japan.
