I tried a couple of years ago. Truly fantastic musicians and musicianship. I found little to keep my interest beyond the known songs/hits. And I REALLY wanted to dig them.

For much of my life I've been obsessed with "Aquatic Ambiance," the underwater level theme from Donkey Kong Country.

Something about it is just very peaceful and evocative to me.

Do you know of other, preferably non-videogame music that captures a similar vibe? I want it

I know this isn't gonna be what you're after but for some reason I immediately thought if Dream Academy's instrumental version of The Smith's 'Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want' that was used in the Art Gallery montage in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

It's a lovely tune, but it was written with gaming console limitations in mind, so I don't think you'll find much, if any, non-video game music in the same vein.
