Not because they are complex drum parts by any means, but they are pretty intense drum songs with some aggressive fills. The impressive thing is....he looks like he's sleeping while he does it. With such ease and technique.

He's definitely all about economy of movement and energy nowadays. Less dramatic but always right there on the beat or with the fill.

His multiple songwriting credits and thirty year relationship with the rest of the band suggest otherwise.
I know he's been there for 30 years, don't need to remind me.

He's still an outsider. And he'll always be, and he doesn't care, it seems. When he talks about Soundgarden, he talks about us/we. When he does about PJ he talks about them.

A quick google search disproves this immediately.

Man, i love his performance in all the new album. Its up there with his best work with the band, which i consider is both Binaural or RA with ST being close.

Really great album from him.

Was just cruising through a MC playlist this morning and was struck for the hundredth time how fucking elite his work on 1/2 Full is.

Maybe his best drum take on a PJ record.

on the Q of how many touring years he thinks he has left in him, he says 'not many' ... for long tours

Somebody’s gotta convince that Matt is better than Jack or Dave A.

Eh, at this point he's been the drummer longer than those guys combined. We aren't getting PJ with Dave A. or Jack again. Matt is the drummer. He's played most of those guys' songs live more than they have. At this point it is what it is. Not sure what there is to debate anymore?

I really don’t like most of these songs but it’s all subjective I guess. I just can’t get aboard the Matt train.
