considering that the R's hold both houses maybe the problem is the EO's just arent good EOs and they realize in the next midtems if they do pass them they are basically signing up to get voted out of office

But is anything actually getting done? Reaching a peace deal with only the losing party in a war doesn't strike me as very valuable.

Without knowing the details, I suspect that a deal that secures access to supplies of rare earth metals in Ukraine by placing US persons and businesses in that country is probably the best deterrent to further Russian military aggression. It doesn't get the occupied land back, but it stops the killing and gives us access to some of the materials we will need when China takes Taiwan and we don't have those fabs to depend on anymore.

Agree the budget is a joke though. DOGE causes utter chaos in DC to save like $50B and the budget adds 5-6x that this year alone in new debt.

And how much of that is for contracts to Musk and the other oligarchs Trump is indebted to?

A lot of what he claims so victories so far are actually illusions or agreements to do something in the future, so who knows what this will turn out to be. That Zelensky appears to be willing to come to the US to discuss mineral rights is itself significant so I have some hope peace is close.

Pretty common doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. When they did it in Britain Russian oligarchs bought up vast amounts of property in London and huge country estates and newspapers. Then implicated themselves into the Tory establishment and ruling elite and now British media and same establishment almost entirely under their direction.
We did it in Ireland and same thing but it was Chinese lads with seemingly endless money bought up fuck ton of property of all sorts. We stopped the scheme I’m not sure the Brits ever managed to. Boris Johnson made one of them a Barron ffs. Son of Putins main spy and he did it against MI5/ British intelligence advice. Did it anyway.

This is clearly Trump laundering and pocketing billions for Russian oligarchs. Will anyone get to see a register of who buys these visas or where the money actually goes?
