This makes it look like she had died a good bit before him. Why mention he state of decay and not his? Maybe he just couldn’t deal and call the police?

Wtf man

The person who reported the deaths found the door of Hackman’s home unlocked and open, and pills scattered next to Arakawa’s body, which was found in the bathroom with a space heater near to her head.

It appeared Arakawa had been dead “for some time,” with the body in a state of decomposition.

He was 95, very well could have been a heart attack after laying eyes on the scene.

Did you miss this from the article?
The appearance of Hackman's body was "similar and consistent" with that of his wife, according to authorities.

I didn’t. She’s out front though.
Strange way to frame it all.

See, if the Catholic Church wasn’t so dead set against assisted dying, the poor guy could be taken out of his misery and given a peaceful humane death now.

Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa’s bodies tested negative for carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Santa Fe County Sheriff Adam Mendoza.

The Sheriff also stated that Gene Hackman’s pacemaker recorded its “last event” on Feb. 17, meaning that it is assumed that was the actor’s last day of life. Toxicology and autopsy reports remain pending.
