There shouldn't be a designated number. Let the year dictate.

Some years will have 10. Some will have 5. Maybe some years will have 4 or 7.

That's how it used to be. Minimum of five, and then some secret calculation to determine how many above five hit some magic threshold of enough votes to qualify.

Ten is good

Actually, my apologies to the OP.

Based on the acceptance speeches tonight, the movie is a women's rights film and it doesn't go any deeper than that.

Did not expect that to win at all.

I believe it was the favorite. It’s a Norwegian-Palestinian film.

Good stuff. Congratulations to them.
Especially after the bbc removing the other documentary last week. This is a big win.

Sean Baker also tied Walt Disney’s record for the most Oscars won by a single person in a single night.

Turns out they can’t find a distributor for it in the US at all.
No surprises there.

I'm have a project, where I'm watching movies by the year they were released. I started with the earliest ever movies (just a few from each of those years, and that has grown to a large amount of movies per year from the 2020s). I'm now on 2023. I can absolutely guarantee I will watch that one as part of my 2024 movies later this year.

I successfully didn't watch this year.

Still need to watch the On Cinema Oscar Special, though.
