You do. He's the best thing in the world right now.

He is so god damn good solo.
Chicago show was a little short, under 2 hours, wished for few more. But man that dude can play and sing.

He's on his first solo tour in a long time. I have tickets for Santa Barbara.

I like Isbell but I always find myself going for the Truckers stuff instead.

Hadn't heard anything about this either:

Jason Isbell - Live at the Capitol Theatre
nugs.net wrote:In celebration of the upcoming release of 'Foxes in the Snow', Jason Isbell's recent solo performance at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY will premiere exclusively on nugs this Sunday (3/9) at 8 PM ET. Jason played songs from his new album and more, on what was a very special night at a historic venue. We are excited to share the concert with you in HD and 4K. Watch On-Demand through March 23, 2025.

For folks that tune in to the live premiere on Sunday (3/9) at 8 PM ET, we will also be premiering "Feel Real Good". The 26-minute short film, made by Jason's friend Will Welch, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of 'Foxes in the Snow', and truly captures the spirit of that recording process. (The short film will not be available on-demand.)

Yeah man, this record is heavy. He lifts the veil a bit though not entirely or poorly, I am glad he made the record as he did and hope it promotes an even more spectacular artist going forward.

Effectual self-reflection really only comes with time, Isbell and I have certainly shared some tribulations.

Like the true, honest, real, romantic and enduring feeling I get from If We Were Vampires, the joy and love and connection... Gravelweed is the exact opposite in the exact right way. It's the anti-Vampires and it fucking hurts.

What a song...

Foxes in the Snow is maybe my second favorite song on the record, which is weird because it's the polar opposite of Gravelweed.

I listened to the record again today, in fact I listened to his entire studio catalog in reverse.

I still think Weathervanes is incredible and having this document living next to it is pretty damn great. I feel like the last album touched on their live prowess a bit more than other records so scaling it all the way back is just one helluva move.

Weathervanes is a great record, yeah.

I still think maybe... Just maybe... Jason works best in a full band setting.
