Fox has used this as bumper music on the Falcons/Cardinals game a couple times already.

It just means that a song is played in a lower key so that Ed can sing it more easily (or for any other possible reason, I'm not sure). The key a song's played in can drastically affect its mood. This particular song sounds kind of bland and sapped of energy when it's played in a lower key.
