(Tremor Christ) was another one where Stone had that insistent verse part. It was like a chord that has a blue note. We were at Kingsway in New Orleans at Daniel Lanois' studio with Brendan [producer Brendan O'Brien]. I remember that song came together super quickly. That song, "Last Exit," and I think "Nothingman" got recorded in that session.

Both "Tremor Christ" and "Last Exit" started with Stone playing a couple of chords. And Dave Abbruzzese plays a great drumbeat on that song. The bass is really free – it's sort of moving all over the place, moving around Ed's vocal.
was listening to T Christ yday morning on headphones

the drum tones sound great

On this week’s Talkhouse Podcast, we’ve got two guys who’ve been friends a long time, but recently formed a new project together. Oh, and one of them happens to be the bassist in a little band called Pearl Jam: It’s Jeff Ament and John Wicks.

Jeff should just stick to those root note basslines!

Jeff Ament bumps into Eddie Vedder at the end of his Deaf Charlie show:

Jeff: Hey Ed, what’s new!?

Ed: We recorded a new Pearl Jam album with Andrew Watt.

Jeff: You don’t say!?

Jeff is featured in the ¨A Fresh Face In Hell¨ podcast, and its again, a wonderful chat with him.

His work ethics and views on the world are always very inspiring to me.

People love to meme on the hats thing (fair play), but that pic of Jeff rocking the hat and the 12 string on the main page is extremely badass.

I dunno, I’ve always enjoyed his songwriting contributions. I might not consider him a bass god, but he’s always solid. I could understand if he’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
