31 Years Ago This Week . . .

Post by Chris_H_2 »

It's hard to believe that it has been 31 years this week since I experienced the greatest run of Pearl Jam shows in my fandom:

3.10.1994 - Chicago Stadium (a welcome home show where they pulled out a lot from their catalogue)
3.13.1994 - Chicago New Regal Theater (weird, but amazing show, highlighted by Angel and a really cool improv)
3.17.1994 - Elliott Hall (Purdue University) (St. Patty's Day with an amazing porch (Ed kicked me in the forehead climbing into the crowd))
3.19.1994 - Detroit Masonic Temple (my favorite Pearl Jam show of all time - Ed threw out cigarettes to the crowd, Mike McCready jumped into the audience (where, as bad luck would have it, I got kicked in the head again), and the coolest version of Footsteps I've ever heard (please drop the harmonica Ed))
3.20.1994 - Crysler Arena (U of M) (cool Three Little Birds intro into Yellow Ledbetter, and the debut of Nothingman)

I will never experience a run of shows like that again. I miss the intensity of the band from back then and how fun the shows were. I am old.

And 6 days later was my first PJ show.

Totally agree about the intensity of those shows. Still wishing they’d put out this whole spring tour.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Wow, those must have been great experiences. 1994’s tour was before my concert time. I was missing out.
Keep on rockin’ in the free world.

I didn’t get to see them until 95. Too late to see Dave. I’m jealous.
