I get this, in general I agree, but Trump has created a situation where needs the state apparatus to function for foreign policy reasons at the same he wants it disassembled. It's his fault for letting the DOGE operate as a Kanban instead of Waterfall.

Elon is not losing, at all. He is actually crushing it, and by "it" I mean breaking things to line his own pockets. I take Elon's apparent discomfort in that interview to be more around him asking himself "Is this actually fun? Making everyone hate me because I broke everything?" Now he has to spend all day with a bunch of political wonks and weird evangelicals, while the quality of pu**y he will get is arguably way worse. But I'm sure he'll sleep just fine, because when you have $330B dollars, it's still probably pretty easy to fall asleep.

Fair points but there is a huge cohort of republicans even MAGA people who wouldn’t subscribe to or support his ongoing Nazi crap. A huge amount of them had grandfathers actually fought against the actual Nazis. This is a rising wave I’m seeing so it’s anecdotal but long with everything else musk and Trump are fucking up on ordinary Americans it’s just another noose around their own necks figuratively speaking when the public decide they’ve had enough.

They can explain away the ‘need’ for violent cuts to jobs / funding and the DOGE of it all.

They will not be able to explain away the ongoing Nazism they’re espousing.
