I will say it does suck that his entire website is behind a paywall.

Not that I'm opposed to paying for content, but there's not even a sample or taste of what a subscription gets you before signing up.

I’ve been fascinating by mushrooms and beans as meat alternatives lately. In particular, a made a mushroom pate recipe which is a great spread on some toasty bread. Also a mushroom and oat burger patty recipe turned out well.

I believe that the last time I intentionally ate any animal products was spring of 2022. I find being vegan to be a joyful experience. I really love it

Do you find that animals trust you more? Like you're one with the forest? Some kind of jew druid?

I do like to pretend that because I haven't eaten meat I don't smell like a carnivore so the bunnies trust me more. But this has not played out in reality. The bunnies still run from me. Someday

I’m not vegan or vegetarian by any stretch but I do the occasional week- or weeks-long meatless stretch. Not giving up dairy, though. Love cheese too much.

Were I ever to re-inteoduce animal products into my diet (which I have no intention or desire to do by the way), dairy would be the last thing I'd want back

Day 2 of VB6 and I'm already failing. I had some ceviche for lunch today.. that's okay, though. Still a light and refreshing meal that's mostly plant based. It's all about the journey, amirite?

I bought some candied mushrooms at a farmer's market. Tasty snack I didn't know existed.

What's the texture like? It sounds pretty disgusting.

Dried and crispy. Flavored with cinnamon and sugar.

Ok, that sounds like it might be pretty good. I have an unfortunate aversion to mushrooms. I just don't like the texture.

Sounds very interesting! I hadn’t heard of it, either, but I’d give it a try.
