Re: Severance
Part of me is wondering if Gemma was a Lumon plant all along. Was it a meet cute at the blood drive? I could see that having some sort of payoff, but it is so hard to say without knowing exactly what is happening

Yeah, I expected great things when it started but that ended up being a treading water episode.

Re: Severance
I am trying not to come down too hard on this episode, but I feel like for the most part it was just a confirmation of all the things we assumed about Cobel’s character—weird cult-like upbringing, issues with her mother, thinking she’s part of the grand mission but really just being a cog in the machine, etc—and all of this stuff was communicated subtly through the performance over the past two seasons, so I feel like it was a bit overkill to put it all on screen.

Re: Severance
I think this episode intended to show more or less what Lumon has done to communities and people’s lives with Cobel as the vehicleSimple Torture wrote:I am trying not to come down too hard on this episode, but I feel like for the most part it was just a confirmation of all the things we assumed about Cobel’s character—weird cult-like upbringing, issues with her mother, thinking she’s part of the grand mission but really just being a cog in the machine, etc—and all of this stuff was communicated subtly through the performance over the past two seasons, so I feel like it was a bit overkill to put it all on screen.

Re: Severance
As reported by Dexerto, the Australian Classification Board have updated their website to show that the runtime for the finale, called “Cold Harbor,” clocks in at 76 minutes.
This makes it the longest Severance episode ever and also twice the length of the latest epsisode (ep 8), which was slammed as “boring” by viewers.

Innie Dylan becoming a blubbering mess was a nice touch considering Gretchen was attracted to a confident version of her husband

Re: Severance
My read wasn't so much that she was attracted to the confidence as much as the purposefulness.Mecca wrote:Innie Dylan becoming a blubbering mess was a nice touch considering Gretchen was attracted to a confident version of her husband
