Moral Dilemma

Post by Bammer »

So I’m in ahuge hurry at the grocery store today, just grabbing a couple quick things - enough of a hurry not to notice that there was already a basket of stuff waiting to be scanned at the self checkout register that I started using. It said “Open” so I scanned my two things and then when paying it applied a coupon that I hadn’t entered. Cut my total about in half. I was walking away when I realized another customer must have brought their groceries to this particular self checkout register, got started with their coupon, but then something happened and they must have needed help from a clerk and walked away for a minute. Oops.

So what do you do?

Wouldn't their items be there if they went to get a clerk? Or it seems they would have scanned the coupons after scanning the items. I wouldn't think anything of it if there was no evidence someone was coming back to use it. God bless.

So your rush is more important than the person who may have really needed that coupon to help with groceries? Wow.

That person just had their life savings of $80000 stolen from them and needed that coupon to eat. And you took that from them.

Saturday morning my wife and I went out for an early breakfast around 7:30 and we have a new doorman/concierge and he was sound asleep..I hit the counter with my hand as a joke to wake him up and introduce myself..he's probably mid 20s and Eastern European..anyway, I went down just now to get mail and he was asleep again..I asked him if he was ok and this is the 2nd time in 2 days you've been asleep..he said he was fine..obviously there are cameras that probably notice it and there are about 350 apartments in this place..do I rat him out or do you think they're already on it?
