It’s all about the jump scare. If you are not offering me a jump scare I am out.

It'd be interesting to listen to a band conversation about tracklist sequencing. If they have one.

truth

Most days I hate the transition from sometimes into Hail Hail. It shatters the contemplative mood, but it doesn't kick off an extend run of hard rocking songs, and it's not like Hail Hail leans into its heaviness. That's a contemplative song in its way. it plays more like a jump scare than something with emotional resonance or musical inventiveness
That makes sense to me. Although I’m not a big fan of either song, In My Tree or Smile would be better right after Sometimes.

What was the first album song you started regularly skipping?

Let's take Pry To, Aye Davanita, Bugs, and Stupid Mop out of this.

This isn't chronological. People's PJ experiences started at different points in their career.

I started listening to PJ with Ten, and I found that the first song I started skipping with some regularity was Leash. After that, it was probably Present Tense.

A question popped into my head which I couldn’t answer. Did Pearl Jam ever play at a concert or festival along with one of the other big four grunge bands while the original singers were still alive?

All of them. Unless if you mean they played a song together?

No, not playing songs together. When did they play with each? If you happen to know.

Like Lollapalooza? They def played shows with Nirvana in support of RHCP and opened for AIC.

Terrible video quality but here's Pearl Jam teasing Smells Like Teen Spirit at one of the shows they opened for Nirvana/RHCP in December 1991:
