Swedish band Kent is back with six sold-out comeback gigs in Stockholm, playing to almost 40 000 people each night. If you lived in the Nordic countries in 97-98, you couldn’t avoid hearing this song.

Solid tune. Didn't understand a single word. Kind of like when I listen to Dungen.

Their output is pretty uneven, but they've definitely written some good tunes over the years. Here's one I still listen to from time to time (I've posted this before).

I kinda liked these guys back in the day. What a fool I was. They so very clearly wanted to be The Strokes. They didn't even try to hide it! What the hell.

Anyway, the most interesting thing about this band is that Justin Meldal-Johnsen was their bassist. He would go on to play bass for Beck, Nine Inch Nails, M83, Air, and St. Vincent. Not a bad launch pad, all things considered.

Lol wtf is this:

And a song from SSX 3 that I actually like:

I despise that Mark Kozelek starts the sing-a-long of Tiny Dancer in Almost Famous

The Acid Queen is the best song on Tommy.

Listening to Sarah McLachlan's Building a Mystery and decided to look up the lyrics since I always assumed it was some generic love song or something.

1. I always heard "stretch your ass to wear in your suicide pose" (and no, I don't know what that means), not the nearly as weird "strut your rasta wear And your suicide poem".
2. This is a very silly song about a very silly guy.

Remember the “Do Something” album? I liked the Cracker, Enigma and Sarah McLachlan songs. I’m pretty sure I bought the CD at Taco Bell.

McLachlan had a bunch of pretty good songs back in the day. Then that Toy Story 2 scene caused generational trauma and we've never forgiven her (or Canada for that matter).
