Fair enough... What about which RMer would you drive to the airport, which would you help move, and which would you get out of seeing their improv show?

I would love to see an F1 race with the F1 crew (Ruddo, Numbersup, Ello), or Wrestlemania with the Wrestling guys (Mecca, Tommy, Lenny, Burt, Numbers), and we’ve got the letterboxd movie unit (Jorge, Tommy, Brandon, Bart, Jordan, Asher and yourself), go to a Pearl Jam show with the PJ-men (Stip, B etc.), watch a Star Wars marathon with Dime, or hang im a beach bar with any number of you guys.

I never got a driver’s license. I had planned to when I was younger, I even did some test driving, and passed the official written test needed. Then I didn’t follow through on finishing it, went to the military for a year, then studied in a small town for five years, where I could walk everywhere, and now I’ve lived 19 years in Oslo, where having a car is kind of a nuisance, and where the bus/tram/subway/train system is the best in the world. Every single colleague of mine, and every single family member of mine has one. So it’s a bit strange. Funny thing is, my wife doesn’t have one either, and we’re both able-bodied people.

Then I didn’t follow through on finishing it, went to the military for a year, then studied in a small town for five years, where I could walk everywhere, and now I’ve lived 19 years in Oslo, where having a car is kind of a nuisance, and where the bus/tram/subway/train system is the best in the world. Every single colleague of mine, and every single family member of mine has one. So it’s a bit strange. Funny thing is, my wife doesn’t have one either, and we’re both able-bodied people.

For some reason, I’d think a DL would be a pre-requisite for military service.

Not at all for a regular soldier, which I was the first momths. Later I applied to a position there as a company secretary, and got the job. Still no license needed. But then they told me, that what they really needed was an administrative assistant, and the officer in charge was away for the next six months, so I would do his job as well. A car was absolutely needed. I would hand out guns and ammunition to soldiers in various places, set up hq when we had missions, write the soldiers pay slip, and many other things. Quickly told them that I had no driver’s license. They said ok, and had a sergeant drive me around for a full year. Received the best commendation from them possible when I left. The strictest captain in camp told me I had done a fantastic job, and that the paper I got would show that. Was a fun time in the army.

He was a great guy. The very handsome type, and funny as well. Many days were busy, but in a few we had more time. One day especially he drove like a mad man in the woods there, just for fun. Another time we drove over the mountain to the next province (I guess in the US that would have been a state boarder). I can't remember what other duties he had, he didn't even belong to our company, and didn't sit around in the office with me. But he did drive me every day, sometimes for several hours, and when he was needed, he would always arrive on time.

I'm glad your dad enjoyed his service. I wasn't an officer, but I did mostly hang out with officers. I was only a corporal, although it says in my papers from the army, that I performed the duties of a lieutenant. Was told that was very rare.

No, I just logged all the rewatches I had done over a few weeks and not logged.

But you're using the diary feature. You're tying them to the specific calendar dates you log them! Fix this now, or else!

Today was the last day of my holiday, and after a hectic day yesterday, it felt good to relax at home with movies. But you can't really tell from my letterboxd that today was the day I watched a lot of movies, and that's fine by me.

I see. That seems to indicate that you don't want them tied to a specific date, which you can accomplish by unchecking the "watched on ____" box when you're logging them. But instead you are tying them to a date, just the incorrect date. So that choice was confusing to me

The current method works really well for me. And after all, it's just my movie collection (or whatever you want to call it). It's nothing significant to anyone else.

Currently finishing off some recently added movies from the 2010s, that I didn't watch when going through those years. Soon, I will go back to watching the remaining 2024 movies on my list, and start on 2025.
