Love River Cross - so lost and desolate but wrapping itself around that one guttering flame of hope and breathing life back into it before the end. So good.
Happy When I'm Crying is a fun secret song that RM has helped me appreciate. But River Cross was the perfect encapsulation of how I felt in the early stages of COVID. It's an Everybody Hurts for me. I don't listen often. But when I do, it always hits hard

One of my favourite Jack Irons memories is when I asked him on Facebook if he wrote Happy When I'm Crying (a question I already knew the answer to) and he replied "yes".

I don't think these songs are particularly well matched.
Happy When I'm Crying should steamroll this one. And I say that as a fan of River Cross.

Never gotten into River Cross for whatever reason. But HWIC is top 15 if not maybe 10.
